Each insurance policy is different. Prior to scheduling your appointment, contact your insurance plan and confirm if your specific policy requires a referral from a primary care physician or another Specialist.

Yes, we offer live-video visits that are categorized by your insurance as a Telehealth visit.
These visits are directly with the Dermatologist and are used to address a wide range of conditions.
These visits are for residents of Maryland and D.C.

There are two ways to confirm our network status with your insurance policy:
Call your insurance company and ask them if our practice (Rivers Dermatology) is in network with your policy?
Provide our office with your insurance card and photo ID – our staff can conduct an eligibility verification of your specific insurance plan.

Photo ID – a valid, government issued photo identification card is required
Acceptable forms of ID include – state ID, military ID, state driver’s license, passport, or permanent resident card
Insurance card – current medical insurance card
Payment Method – debit or credit card (for payment of patient cost-sharing amounts)
Medical Information – List of your medical history, medications (with dosages), and allergies
Pharmacy Information – Address and phone number of your preferred pharmacy
Referral Forms – if required by your medical insurance plan
